Click here to add the survey pair you have entered on the left to the end of the scrolling list of survey pairs on the right. See
Entering a Survey Pair
for more information on entering survey pairs.
'Insert' button
Click here to insert the survey pair you have entered on the left into the scrolling list of survey pairs on the right. It will be inserted above the highlighted pair in the list box. To highlight a pair in the list box, just click on it. See
Inserting, deleting, cutting, and pasting pairs
for more information on inserting survey pairs.
'Edit' button*
If you notice that a survey pair in the scrolling list box is incorrect (is in the right place but has a mistake in it) you can edit it by highlighting it and clicking this button. This will put you in 'Edit' mode, in which the appearance of the dialog will change and you will be able to fix the error and return the pair to the list. To highlight a pair in the list box, just click on it. See
Editing Survey Pairs
for more information on editing survey pairs.
* This button will change in appearance when you are in 'Edit' mode--it will say
'Update',
which will replace the corrected pair into the list.
'Cut' button*
If you want to delete or move a pair or pairs from the list on the right, highlight it (or them) by clicking on the pair (or clicking on several pairs while holding down the Shift key) and click this button. The pairs will be removed from the list and copied to the clipboard. You can then paste them anywhere into the list using the 'Paste' button.
* This button will change in appearance when you are in 'Edit' mode--it will say
'Cut Pair',
which will cut the pair you are editing out of the list and take you out of 'Edit' mode.
'Paste' button*
This button will paste the last pair or pairs you 'Cut' out of the list back into the list above the highlighted pair (you can highlight a pair in the scrolling list box on the right by clicking on it), or, if no pair is highlighted, at the end of the list. You can un-highlight all the pairs by clicking the
'Unselect All'
button located at the bottom of the scrolling list box.
* This button will change in appearance when you are in 'Edit' mode--it will say 'Unedit',
which will take you out of 'Edit' mode and replace the original pair back into the list as if you had never edited it.
'Update' button*
* This button, which is not normally visible, replaces the
'Edit'
button when you are in 'Edit' mode (you can edit a pair by highlighting it in the scrolling list box on the right side of the dialog and clicking 'Edit'). It replaces your corrected pair back into the list after you edit it.
'Cut Pair' button*
* This button, which is not normally visible, replaces the
'Cut'
button when you are in 'Edit' mode (you can edit a pair by highlighting it in the scrolling list box on the right side of the dialog and clicking 'Edit'). It functions like the 'Cut' button, only it cuts the pair you are currently editing out of the list and takes you out of 'Edit' mode.
'Unedit' button*
* This button, which is not normally visible, replaces the
'Paste'
button when you are in 'Edit' mode (you can edit a pair by highlighting it in the scrolling list box on the right side of the dialog and clicking 'Edit'). It takes you out of 'Edit' mode and replaces the original pair back into the list as if you had never edited it.
Insert Curve button
Click this button to add or insert a curve into the survey. If you have a line or lines highlighted in the survey list box, the curve will be inserted before the first highlighted line; otherwise the curve will be added to the end of the list. When you click this button, the
Insert Curve dialog
will appear, in which you can enter in the values that define the curve.
Survey list box
This box holds all the survey pairs and curves you have entered so far, in the order in which they will eventually be drawn. You can 'highlight' or select pairs (each survey pair or curve is one row in the box) by clicking on them with the mouse. Shift-click to select more than one.
'Unselect All' button
This button unselects, or 'un-highlights' all the survey pairs in the scrolling list box above it. This is especially useful when you want to paste pairs at the end of the list and need there to be no selected pairs.
