IMPORTANT NOTE:

The information you type in the fields gets updated into the table every time you hit Tab, Enter, or move the cursor to a new field using the mouse. If you select a new feature (using the mouse or the Select Previous/Next buttons) without hitting Tab or Enter first, you may lose the data you just typed into the current field. To avoid data loss, get into the habit of hitting Tab or Enter before either changing the selection or clicking Commit or Done. To save the data you have entered to disk, you must click Commit; otherwise your edits exist only in memory. Once you have clicked Commit, you cannot undo your changes.

If you want to erase the existing data in a cell, you can't just erase the data in a textline on the Attribute Entry dialog; this will not affect the data. You need to Shift-click on the text entry field to erase the data in the table. The reason for this is that when you have multiple features selected, all the text entry fields in the dialog will be empty. The shift-click functionality guards against inadvertantly erasing many features' data while editing. For more information, see Data Entry fields.

It is possible to open the Attribute Entry dialog while using the Parcel Editor dialog if you want to add attributes to the lines in your polyline theme as you add and edit the lines (and if you have a big enough screen to hold both dialogs and the View window!). Just click the Attributes button on the Parcel Editor dialog while you are editing or turn on the Add Atttributes... option on the Options dialog.
