These buttons appear along the bottom of the Survey Entry dialog, and are present on both page 1 and page 2 of the dialog.
Help button
Clicking this button opens a message telling you the web address of this help document.
'Save' button
Make sure you save frequently! This button will save the data you have entered in this dialog to a text file that you can later call back up for further editing, or draw as a feature to a later editing session using the Parcel Editor dialog. If you haven't named the file yet (you can tell if the file is named by looking at the bar along the top of the dialog window) you will be asked to name it; otherwise the file will be saved using the existing name.
'Save As' button
If you wish to change the name of the survey file you are editing, click here to save it under another name. This can be particularly useful if you are entering several survey segments that share a lot of the same information in the Comments section--it will save a lot of typing. Just save the current file under a new name, change the parts of the comments that differ, and cut the old survey pairs and add new ones.
'New' button
The 'New' button clears all the data entry fields and allows you to start a new survey file. If you have data in the fields you will be prompted to save it before it is erased.
'Open' button
You can open an existing survey text file for viewing and editing using this button. You will be asked whether you want to save your existing data (if there is any) before browsing for a file to open.
'Print' button
This button is not currently functional. If you want a hard copy of a survey file, you can simply open the survey text file in a text editor or word processor and print it.
'Exit' button
When you are done entering surveys and wish to quit the Survey Entry Dialog, click here to close it. If there is data in any of the fields, you will be prompted to save it as a survey text file.
Edit Survey/Edit Comments button
This button (which changes its label from 'Edit Survey' to 'Edit Comments' depending on which page you are on) lets you switch between the two pages of the Survey Entry dialog.
